Cyber Monday is on December 2 this year and is the perfect time to pick up a gift for the cruise lover on your Christmas list or stock up on cruise essentials for yourself. Here’s my curated list of the best Cyber Monday deals for cruisers.
If you’re worried about your paper cruise luggage tags coming off your suitcase or getting wet or damaged, you’ll want to pick up some plastic cruise luggage tag holders. This set of 5 is on sale for only $4.91 ($18% off) on Cyber Monday.
I’ve used water shoes on most of my cruises and the few times I’ve forgotten to pack them, I’ve regretted it (trust me, a visit to the medical center to retrieve a shard of glass from your heal is not anyone’s idea of cruise entertainment). The water shoes pictured below are just $6.99 (53% off) on Cyber Monday.
Apple Air Tags have many uses. For example, I use one to stalk my kid. Just kidding, it’s for legit purposes – I attached one to my son’s keys so I can make sure he makes it to school on the city bus since he doesn’t have a phone). But many cruisers have found them helpful in tracking their luggage as it travels through airports and (hopefully) onto their ship. If your bag doesn’t show up outside your cabin as expected, an Air Tag may help you locate it saving your cabin-mate the smell of you in the same clothes for 7 days. You might also pop one in your purse or wallet in case you leave it somewhere at port and need to quickly retrieve it. This 4-pack is on sale for $72.99 (26% off).
I always bring a travel mug with me on my cruises to fill up with coffee or to pour cocktails into if I want to transport them. This one (highly rated and a best seller on Amazon) is a fabulous price right now at $19.99 (43% off). It also includes a straw, which you’ll also need since most cruise lines don’t provide them anymore (or, if they do, they are the horrible paper or edible ones).
Many new cruisers don’t realize that storage space in a small cruise cabin is minimal. And they may also be surprised to learn that the walls and doors of cruise cabins are metal. Enter one of the most popular items on cruise packing lists: magnetic hooks. Stick these on your cabin walls or doors to hang swimsuits, bags, jackets, lanyards, etc. This 10-pack is on sale for $5.85 (51% off):
Another great way to add extra storage space to a cruise cabin and stay organized is an over the door organizer. You can hang this on the bathroom door or even hang it on a wall with two of your magnetic hooks. This popular one for cruising is on sale for $14.39 (20% off) on Cyber Monday:
Cruise cabins (especially interior cabins) get very dark at night and it’s easy to trip when getting up to use the restroom or when you’re scrambling to find your phone or a light to turn on in the morning. This popular and highly rated motion sensor light was designed specifically for cruise cabins and features a magnetic base so it can be attached to any metal surface (walls, ceiling, door, light fixtures, etc). It’s priced at just $13.59 (46% off) for Cyber Monday.
If you’re anything like me and burn just thinking about the sun, you’ll want to stock up on sunscreen while it’s on sale prior to your cruise. This popular one is SPF 70, water resistant, and oxybenzone free. It’s currently on sale for Cyber Monday for $7.49 (43% off):
Without a good pair of binoculars for your cruise, you’ll see lots of indistinguishable black dots that those with binoculars will swear are whales, dolphins, exotic birds, otters, etc. This highly rated, but affordable pair is just $28.79 (20% off) or you can check out other Cyber Monday deals on binoculars HERE.
There are no clocks in cruise ship cabins and you do NOT want to be that person who shows up to the dining room 15 minutes after breakfast hours are over begging for some decent coffee and eggs benedict. Sure, you could just look at your phone, but it might be plugged in far away from you or hard to find in the dark. That’s why I always pack a travel clock. This highly rated one is on sale for $11.89 (15% off) and even includes batteries:
If you’re in need of some new luggage for your next cruise, there are some fabulous Cyber Monday deals. I especially like this piece (pictured below) priced at $94.99 (32% off) and you can find other Cyber Monday deals on luggage HERE.
Whether to keep cool at the gym (I clip mine to my iPad so I can watch Netflix while I peddle slower than a drunk sloth on a recumbent bike to justify constant cruise binging), for white noise to help you sleep, for air circulation in your cabin, or to keep you cool on your balcony or at the beach, I strongly recommend packing a small rechargeable clip fan like the one I have pictured below, on sale for Cyber Monday for $12.99 (19% off).
Sadly, I found out on my honeymoon cruise that I’m prone to sea sickness, so I always bring a pack of these motion sickness patches on every sailing. They are natural and can be placed behind your ear or on your stomach. Coupled with some ginger chews or lozenges (should I feel any queasiness coming on), they work great for me. I also always pack Bonine as a backup, but have rarely had to use it.
The patches are on sale for $5.99 (25% off) for a pack of 36 and a 16 pack of chewable Bonine tablets is on sale for $5.94 (26% off).
Sporting a novelty cruise shirt is a great way to meet people and share a good laugh over common cruise interests:”me too man, see you at the soft serve machine!” These are three of my favorites and they’re all on sale for Cyber Monday:
If you’re cruising somewhere tropical, you’ll likely be spending lots of time in swimwear and (if you’re female) sundresses. See deals on swimwear for women HERE and sundresses HERE and swim trunks for men HERE. I really like this mini dress on sale for only $9.99 (50% off):
The last thing you want is for your phone to die right before an orca breaches feet in front of you on your cruise (consider that autobiographical). You’ll also want to keep your phone charged in airports, on long flights, while waiting to board your ship, etc. This best selling model is on sale for $17.99 (18% off) on Cyber Monday or you can check out all the models on sale HERE.
Speaking of charging your devices, many cruise ships still in service were designed before the average cruiser had approximately 20 devices that need to remain charged. As such, many cabins suffer from a shortage of 3-prong and USB outlets. If you’re on an older ship, you might want to pick up one of these (they are approved for cruise ships EXCEPT for any Royal Caribbean ships where all extra outlets are banned) on sale for $13.59 (46% off) for Cyber Monday:
If you’ll be spending any time around water on your cruise (duh, it’s a cruise), you’ll want to pick up a waterproof pouch to protect your phone while at the beach or hanging out at the pool. This one is highly rated and will keep your phone dry and protected even when fully submerged. You can even take photos while your phone is inside. I picked one up for a snorkeling excursion I have planned for my cruise to Hawaii in a few weeks. This is a phenomenal Cyber Monday deal at just $5.63 (29% off) for a two pack.
If you enjoy listening to music or an audio book by the pool, at the beach, while working out at the ship’s gym, or on your morning outdoor deck stroll, definitely pack a pair of ear buds. If you’re in the market for new ones, there are a bunch of them on sale for Cyber Monday in a variety of price ranges. Go HERE to see the selection.
Now is also a great time to pick up a spare set of shades. There’s a huge selection on sale HERE. The ones pictured below are only $9.99 (50% off) for a 3-pack!
I don’t use these, but many fellow cruisers I know swear by packing cubes to stay organized and maximize luggage space. This popular set is on sale during Cyber Monday for $16.98 (23% off):
If you enjoy cruise food as much as I do, you’ll want to pack some stretchy buffet pants and some Poo-Pourri toilet spray. It’s on sale for Cyber Monday for just $6.49 (46% off).
Don’t let rain ruin your day at port! Be sure to pack a rain coat or poncho for that unexpected shower (or if you’re cruising to Alaska, for that likely shower). Here are all the Cyber Monday deals on rain gear: Rain Coats on Sale for Cyber Monday. These two (the first is for men and the second for women) are my favorites and on sale for just $28.79 (20% off) and $23.99 (40% off).
For repelling bugs and getting all your drinks paid for by fellow cruisers getting eaten alive by mosquitoes on your excursions, “an Off! wipe in exchange for a drink at the bar later?” These wipes are on sale for $13.49 (46% off).
Need to rinse out undergarments, swimwear, or other clothing items, but don’t want to pay for expensive cruise ship laundry services? These travel packs of detergent for use in your cabin’s sink may be the perfect solution! They are on sale for $6.47 (7% off).
I ALWAYS buy travel insurance to cover my cruises, but I NEVER purchase it through a cruise line. It costs more and usually covers less than policies you purchase on your own. I go through sites like travelinsurance.com* to compare plans and prices and get the best deal for the coverage I want. Just enter your travel dates, total travel costs (cruise fare, hotel, air, etc), and answer a few basic questions about yourself and quickly and easily see all your options. You can also read reviews before you purchase a plan. Spend less on insurance and spend more on excursions, special onboard cruise experiences, and…future cruises!
