Those of you who regularly follow my blog might find it curious that I’m writing about a luxury cruise, no make that yacht, line with ships so small you might mistake one for Kendall Jenner’s backup vessel (until you see all the old people disembarking in chinos with cardigans draped over their shoulders). Let me explain. First, a lot of weird stuff has happened to me recently, like getting poisoned (and suffering near liver failure) by a vegan health food company. So I figure I’m due to win the lottery.
And second, I hope this will serve as a counterweight to the massive coverage Royal Caribbean’s newest vessel (which will be the largest at sea), Icon of the Seas, has been receiving. But really, if you put a WindStar ship on one side of a balance scale and then loaded the Icon of the Seas on the other, that humble little yacht would be propelled right into space to discover there’s no water. Balance may be a fool’s errand, but here we are nonetheless. So WindStar…
The six WindStar vessels, three all-suite motor yachts and three classic sailing yachts, range in capacity from 148 to 342 guests and sail to many exotic and unusual (read as “small”) ports not accessible to larger cruise ships. Say goodbye to crowds and ahoy to pampered luxury. But you’ll pay for it (time to pick up that lottery ticket)!
All food (with the exception of two upcharge items indicated on the Candles steakhouse menu) is included on WindStar cruises. Every vessel features a small buffet, a main dining room, a steakhouse, and room service. The motor yachts also feature a grill and a Spanish restaurant and the “Wind Surf” is the only vessel with Stella Bistro. Here’s each ship and which dining options are available followed by all the menus:
Here are all the WindStar dining menus. I’ve also provided a downloadable PDF where possible if you want to save or print them.
Here are 5 samples menus from the Amphora main dining room. On some nights the dining room will be closed and there will be a special dinner served on deck instead (a BBQ pig roast, “Destination Discovery,” etc).
