Introduction: Room Service on Holland America

Is room service free on Holland America? Yes!

As of 2025, Holland America is one of the only non-luxury cruise lines to still offer complimentary room service to all guests. Below you’ll find the dedicated room service menu on Holland America for 2025. However, it gets even better! You can also order any item from the main dining room (MDR) to be delivered via room service for free as long as the dining room is open. While there is no charge for delivery or individual items (except for specialty items indicated on the menu below), tipping is appreciated. We generally tip $1-$3 per item. We ordered room service several times on our most recent cruise onboard the Zaandam both from the room service menu and the MDR menu. Delivery took 30-45 minutes and items arrived fresh and at the appropriate temperature. Kudos to Holland America for continuing to provide this wonderful service! Here’s the menu:

And with that…

Class Dismissed.

Today’s Bonus Cruising Tip

I always buy travel insurance to cover my cruises, but I never purchase it through Holland America. It costs more and usually covers far less than policies you purchase on your own. I go through sites like travelinsurance.com* to compare plans and prices and get the best deal for the coverage I want. It’s a simple process – enter your travel dates, total travel costs (including air, hotel, and cruise fare), and answer a few basic questions about yourself and see a list of quotes for plans with reviews. Spend less on insurance and spend more on excursions, special onboard cruise experiences and…future cruises!

Homework (10 points): Share to the comments what you think of room service on Holland America.
