Carnival Movies for September 2023

Some popcorn, a movie reel, some movie tickets, and a carnival cruise ship with text that reads: Dive-in Movies coming to Carnival ships in September 2023.

“Dive-In Movies” on Carnival are one of the things I love most about the line. So if you’re booked on a Carnival cruise soon, be sure to grab a ($4) bag of popcorn, some buffet desserts, and a beverage, pull up a lounger, and enjoy a flick at sea! Here are the movies that will be shown on Carnival cruises for the last week of August and September 2023. To see when specific movies are playing on your sailing, check your daily printed Fun Times schedule or the Carnival HUB app. Note that not every movie will be shown on every sailing.

In the Heights

2021, Musical, Rated PG-13

Description (Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes):

“The creator of “Hamilton” and the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” invite you to the event of the summer, where the streets are made of music and little dreams become big… “In the Heights.” Lights up on Washington Heights… The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life. “In the Heights” fuses Lin-Manuel Miranda’s kinetic music and lyrics with director Jon M. Chu’s lively and authentic eye for storytelling to capture a world very much of its place, but universal in its experience.”

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

2023, Action, Rated PG-13

Description (Courtesy of Paramount+):

“A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people in this hilarious and action-packed adventure.”

Description (Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes):

“Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything–and everyone–that Dom loves, forever.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

2023, Sci-fi/Adventure, Rated PG-13

Description (Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes):

“In Marvel Studios ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

John Wick Chapter 4

2023, Action/Crime/Thriller, Rated R

“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.”

The Flash

2023, Action/Adventure, Rated PG-13

Description (Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes):

“Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Description (Courtesy of IMDb):

A Brooklyn plumber named Mario travels through the Mushroom Kingdom with a princess named Peach and an anthropomorphic mushroom named Toad to find Mario’s brother, Luigi, and to save the world from a ruthless fire-breathing Koopa named Bowser.
