Cruising

20 Signs you Might be a Cruise Addict

A little bit of fun heading into the weekend.

You might be a cruise addict if:

1: You understand the following acronyms and assume others will too: MDR, UBP, DOD, FTTF.

2: You have a “ship on a stick” on your mantel.

3: You order your warm melting chocolate cake with TWO ice creams.

5: You have a bookmark for “Cruise Critic” on your browser but never use it because you have it open on your screen at all times.

6: You consider anything less than 21 days a short cruise.

7: You have at least 3 cruises booked at all times and 3 you’re researching for the future.

8: You’ve participated in “Oprah’s Book Club” multiple times on Holland America hoping to meet Oprah.

9: Your favorite restaurant is the Blue Iguana (or another cruise ship restaurant).

10: Your walls are papered with tiny reproductions of paintings you’ve received for free at cruise ship art lectures.

11: You have a section of your closet dedicated to cruise wear.

12: Your kid’s favorite stuffie is a replica of an NCL ship.

13: You arrive at the cruise port by 10:00am on embarkation day.

14: You have a collection of cruise pins decorating your backpack.

15: You’ve tried to make a signature cruise line dish such as Princess’s Fettuccine Alfredo or Carnival Chocolate Melting Cake at home.  When it “just wasn’t the same” you booked another cruise.

16: You either defend your preferred cruise line with a fierceness that causes your friends to wonder if you’re in a cult or you’ve cruised so many lines you get them mixed up, “now which line had the giant carrot cake?”

17: You spend frequent free nights “at the theater” and joke, “it wasn’t Broadway, but it was worth the price of admission.”

18: You wish the MDR would change up the menu, because you’ve ordered every item multiple times.

19: When you go to register your kid at the Kid’s Club, the staff says, “not you again!”

and finally…

20: You run a sub-par cruise blog instead of doing any real work.

Well I scored 100%.  No big surprise there! How about you? Add other signs you might be a cruise addict in the comments and don’t forget to share with your cruising friends so you can enable (I mean support) each other.

Class dismissed.
